Calapan City to Launch 911 Emergency Hotline in September

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The Calapan City government announced that it will launch its 911 Emergency Hotline in September. The new emergency service aims to provide residents with faster and more reliable assistance during emergencies, including accidents, fires, and other incidents where immediate response is critical. The city government, through its campaign slogan “One call. One response. One life,” emphasized the importance of every second counting during emergencies. The 911 hotline is designed to improve coordination among emergency responders and provide residents with a single number to call for urgent assistance. The city encourages the public to be ready to use the service once it becomes operational in September, highlighting its commitment to delivering prompt and efficient emergency response. Nationwide, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has already launched its own 911 hotline unifying police, fire, and medical responses, contributing to the strengthening of the country's emergency response system.
