Nguyen Manh Hung Appointed Deputy Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam has issued a decision appointing Nguyen Manh Hung, a member of the Central Committee, to the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee. This appointment underscores the significance of organizational management and cadre selection within Vietnam's one-party system. For the term 2025-2030, Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung will join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, serving as Standing Deputy Secretary. Born in 1974, he hails from Vinh Long Province and holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics. He is also a member of the 14th Party Central Committee. Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung has a substantial career history in Tay Ninh Province. He began as a specialist in the Office of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee, subsequently holding positions such as Deputy Head of the Provincial People's Committee Office, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Go Dau District Party Committee, Secretary of the Tay Ninh City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. From March to June 2025, he served as Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. Following the merger of Tay Ninh and Long An provinces, from July 2025 to January 2026, he held the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of the new Tay Ninh Province. In January 2026, he was elected to the Party Central Committee at the 14th National Party Congress. Vinh Long Province has a natural area of 6,296.2 km² and comprises 124 communal-level administrative units, with a population of nearly 3.4 million people. Among them, ethnic minorities number 373,640, accounting for 11.03% of the population. The Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee was established by Decision No. 325-QD/TW dated June 18, 2025, of the Politburo, based on the merger and consolidation of the three provincial party committees of Vinh Long, Ben Tre, and Tra Vinh. Following the reorganization, the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee now has 128 direct subordinate party committees, including 124 commune/ward party committees and 4 party committees directly subordinate to higher levels. There are 857 grassroots party organizations, 18 sub-party committees, and 5,903 affiliated branches, with a total of 154,875 party members.
