Authorities collared Thursday morning the suspect following a police manhunt after the crime was discovered last Monday. The victims were identified as Arlene Fernan Dumalte, 42, a barangay health worker; her daughter Nashyl, 16, a Grade 10 student; En-en, 14, a Grade 8 student; and Arnel, 11, a Grade 6 pupil. Camiguing, who has a standing warrant of arrest issued in May 2025 for theft, is facing four counts of murder. The grieving Alfred, the eldest son of Arlene, expressed relief over the arrest. “I am deeply thankful to the police because they finally arrested the suspect who killed my mother and siblings,” he said. Alfred recounted that Camiguing had been staying at their house for about two months, often refusing to help with farm work. “He would just eat and sleep at the house. He had no shame or conscience, especially for my three younger siblings whom he also killed,” he said. He said he lost control and included them in the attack because he claimed evil had already taken over him,” Rosabel recounted. According to her, the suspect left the crime scene at around 4 a.m. and fled to a forested area to hide.
