The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training has urgently intervened in a case where the owners of the Sely Fashion Garment Factory fled without paying wages and benefits to their workers. On the morning of September 11, 2026, the ministry dispatched skilled officials to collaborate with local authorities to intervene and find an immediate solution for the employees. The factory in question is located in Souchou Cambodia Industrial Park, along National Road 21, Prek Long Village, Roka Khvav Commune, Ta Khmau City, Kandal Province. Mr. Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, confirmed the ministry's immediate intervention to find a solution for the employees. He stated, "In cases where employers abscond without fulfilling their obligations to pay wages and benefits, the ministry will take legal action to protect the rights and benefits of the workers." He added, "The ministry understands the concerns of the workers, especially in situations where they do not receive their wages on time. However, the resolution must follow legal procedures. In such cases, the ministry will sue the company in court to request a court order for the preservation of assets and to resolve the substantive complaint, enabling the payment of wages and other benefits to the employees." Concurrently, the ministry appealed to the employees to remain calm and allow skilled officials and competent authorities time to find a solution, urging them to avoid any actions that could disrupt public order and violate the law.
