Miss World 73rd Edition Kicks Off in Vietnam with Global Beauties Arriving
Preparations for the 73rd Miss World pageant are underway in Vietnam, with over 130 international contestants arriving to participate. The contestants are set to engage in various activities and immerse themselves in Vietnamese culture during the month-long competition.
More than 130 contestants from around the world are arriving in Vietnam to prepare for the 73rd Miss World pageant. On August 8, many contestants landed at Noi Bai International Airport, commencing their preparations for the initial activities of the competition. Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska, Mr. World 2025 Pham Tuan Ngoc, and Miss Vietnam 2022 runner-up Khanh Nhi were present to welcome and gift the beauty queens. The contestants have brought numerous suitcases filled with outfits, accessories, and personal items for their nearly month-long stay in Vietnam. Their early arrival aims to help them stabilize their health and acclimate to the weather before officially entering the competition. The representative from Belize chose a modern take on the Ao Dai, showcasing her affection for the host country and its culture. The delegate from Bolivia posed with a Non La (traditional Vietnamese conical hat), while the contestant from Mexico opted for a strapless dress and an updo. Audrey Bianca Callista, 23, Miss World Indonesia, is among the candidates drawing significant attention on online forums due to her attractive appearance and strong academic background. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, majoring in International Relations and Organizations from Leiden University in the Netherlands. The Guadeloupean beauty donned a minimalist outfit that highlighted her tan skin. The delegate from Finland expressed her delight with the Vietnamese specialty gift, presented in a handcrafted bamboo basket. Monny Mongkoutphet Hanesana of Laos appeared in an elegant style. Miss World Vietnam 2022 runner-up Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, 25, traveled from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi. Her mother saw her off at Tan Son Nhat International Airport to offer encouragement. Bao Ngoc, originally from Can Tho City, stands at 1.86 meters tall with body measurements of 87-63-98 cm. She won the first runner-up title at Miss World Vietnam in August 2022 and, a week later, was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2022 in Egypt. She has had a year to prepare since the rights holder announced her participation in the pageant in August 2025. Bao Ngoc met and interacted with other contestants at the airport. As the host delegate, she hopes to serve as a bridge to introduce the beauty of her country to international friends. The contestants will then travel by car to a hotel in Quang Ninh province for rest. The organizing committee will host a welcome party on August 9, followed by the opening ceremony on the evening of August 11. Miss World, first held in 1951, is one of the two oldest and largest beauty pageants in the world, alongside Miss Universe. The competition honors the spirit of global solidarity by seeking young women with beauty, intellect, and meaningful community projects. For many years, Miss World has promoted the message of "Beauty with a Purpose." The 73rd edition also marks the 75th anniversary of the pageant's inception. Contestants will visit Hanoi starting August 8, followed by a series of activities in Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Nha Trang. The reigning queen, Opal Suchata from Thailand, will crown her successor on the final night on September 5, which is expected to be broadcast globally.
