Anutin Leads Thailand's Trade and Investment Push on Global Tour

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul of Thailand has embarked on an official mission to Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom, commencing on September 20, to advance the nation's trade and investment agenda on the global stage. This tour aims to bolster Thailand's economic presence and expand international partnerships. The Prime Minister began his duties in Tokyo from September 20 to 21, where he chaired a meeting of Team Thailand agencies. He then traveled to New York to participate in the High-level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) from September 21 to 24. In New York, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the UN General Debate, hold meetings with international leaders and senior UN officials, and engage with investors and business representatives. A key event will be his delivery of Thailand’s national statement at the General Debate on September 24, using the platform to articulate the country's development strategies and contributions to the international community. Following his engagements in New York, the Prime Minister will proceed to London for meetings on September 25 and 26, with a particular focus on investment, capital markets, and cooperation with the UK private sector. This visit is expected to foster investment in Thailand from Europe and deepen economic ties. The delegation accompanying the Prime Minister includes key figures such as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun, and Minister of Digital Economy and Society Chaichanok Chidchob. The mission also includes prominent financial sector representatives, including Chairman of the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn and President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Asadej Kongsiri, indicating a comprehensive approach involving financial expertise. The primary focus of this tour is to strengthen international cooperation and expand opportunities in trade, investment, capital markets, technology, and the digital economy. By deepening global collaboration in these sectors, the Thai government seeks to invigorate its domestic economy and achieve sustainable growth.
