ASEAN Media Trainees Visit Great Wall, Study Chinese Finance History

As part of the training program "New Media to Promote High-Quality Industrial Development for ASEAN Countries," media trainees from various ASEAN nations visited China's Great Wall at Juyong Pass on the morning of September 18, 2026. This educational tour was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and coordinated by the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), with organization by China Broadcasting International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd. (CBIC). During their study tour at this significant historical site, the trainees delved deeply into the "Ministry of Finance Administrative Building." This structure served as the permanent office for China's Ministry of Finance during the Ming Dynasty, responsible for managing fiscal affairs, tax collection, and economic matters in the strategic Juyong Pass area. According to the tour guide, key architectural features and historical information include: Construction and Renovation: The administrative building was sumptuously repaired and reorganized in the 10th year of the Zhengde reign, corresponding to 1515 AD. Building Layout: The structure was arranged according to ancient administrative architectural standards, featuring a Main Hall in the center for state affairs and meetings, equipped with Heavy Gates at the front. The rear section housed Bedrooms. Official Residences: The left and right sides of the Main Hall were divided into houses and official residences for civil servants working in this office. This training initiative underscores China's efforts to foster media cooperation and understanding within ASEAN, utilizing historical and cultural sites to deepen insights into China's development and governance.
