Robbery Gang Arrested After Attacking Woman in Central Ho Chi Minh City

A robbery incident where a woman was attacked and had her belongings stolen occurred in a park in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's southern economic hub. Police responded swiftly, apprehending the suspect group within just one hour of the crime. The incident took place on the afternoon of September 10th in 23/9 Park (Công viên 23/9) in Ben Thanh ward. According to police reports, Nguyen Van Tuan, 30, along with three homeless associates, assaulted a woman in the park and stole her handbag. Following the incident, Ben Thanh ward police, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, launched an investigation. After over an hour of pursuit, police located the suspect group at a nearby eatery and made the arrests. Nguyen Van Tuan, one of the arrested suspects, has been identified as having multiple prior convictions and records. He is believed to be the one who directly assaulted the victim and took her bag. This incident, occurring in a central area of Ho Chi Minh City, a major economic driver for Vietnam and a place with high foot traffic, highlights ongoing concerns about public safety.
