Anak Krakatau Volcano Eruption Ends, Alert Level Remains 'Siaga' in Indonesia

Indonesia's Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) has announced that the eruptive activity at Anak Krakatau volcano has ended. However, the center will maintain the alert level at 'Siaga' (Alert). Anak Krakatau, a volcanic island formed after the massive 1883 Krakatoa eruption, always requires attention from surrounding communities and maritime traffic. Due to the persistent risk of ashfall, volcanic bombs, and potential tsunamis in the waters around Anak Krakatau, caution is also advised for maritime navigation. Located within Indonesia's "Ring of Fire," this volcano is in a region prone to frequent and active volcanic events. Even after the eruption ends, PVMBG will continue to monitor seismic activity, ground deformation, and gas emissions to ensure the safety of the population.
