Thailand Boosts EV Sector with Chinese Capital, Accelerating AI Adoption and Workforce Reskilling

Thailand's Ministry of Industry has announced a strategy to further develop its electric vehicle (EV) industry by actively attracting investment from China. As part of this initiative, the ministry plans to accelerate the adoption of AI technology within the domestic EV sector and enhance upskilling and reskilling programs for the workforce. This endeavor is positioned as a crucial step for Thailand to establish its status as an EV manufacturing hub in the ASEAN region. China, being the world's largest EV market with advanced technology and substantial capital, is considered a vital potential partner for Thailand. By attracting Chinese investment, the Ministry of Industry aims to boost production capacity, strengthen the supply chain, and create new employment opportunities. Concurrently, the necessity of upskilling and reskilling the workforce to adapt to industrial structural changes has been acknowledged.
