Indonesian Vice Minister of Manpower Launches App to Boost Port Labor Cooperatives' Efficiency and Transparency

Indonesia's Vice Minister of Manpower has announced the launch of the 'Dermaga' application, designed to enhance the operational efficiency and transparency of Port Labor Cooperatives (Koperasi Tenaga Kerja Bongkar Muat, or TKBM). This digitized platform aims to streamline the processes of member management, operational execution, and financial reporting. TKBMs are labor organizations responsible for cargo handling at Indonesia's major ports. The efficiency and transparency of their operations are directly linked to the smooth functioning of overall port logistics. Historically, manual systems or outdated processes for member registration, attendance tracking, and remuneration have led to inefficiencies and potential risks of malpractice. The introduction of the 'Dermaga' application will digitize these processes, enabling real-time data management.
