Phnom Penh Woman Found Dead, Ex-Boyfriend Suspected in Murder and Robbery

A shocking murder case has occurred in Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, where a female hairdresser was found dead in her home. Police are intensifying their investigation, as the ex-boyfriend of the victim is strongly suspected of involvement in the incident. The incident was discovered around noon on September 7th at the victim's residence in Borey New World, Phnom Penh Thmey Village, Sen Sok District. The victim has been identified as Praek Malis, 34 years old, who worked as a hairdresser. According to preliminary police investigations, Malis is believed to have died from suffocation or strangulation. A pillow, suspected to have been used in the crime, was found at the scene, and it is speculated that the perpetrator covered the victim's face with the pillow and strangled her to death. After the murder, the suspect is believed to have stolen some of the victim's jewelry and a Honda Click motorcycle before fleeing the scene. Police are focusing their investigation on the ex-boyfriend, who reportedly stayed at the victim's house the night before the incident. The victim was a widow with one daughter, but her daughter lived separately with her grandmother in another area. The victim and the suspect are believed to have been in a relationship for over a year. Currently, police are gathering information from witnesses, collecting evidence, and tracking the whereabouts of the suspect, continuing their investigation towards an early arrest.
