Indonesia: Call to Reinstate 'Women's Rights' and 'Traditional Knowledge' in Draft Indigenous Peoples Law

Indonesian civil society coalitions are strongly urging the government to reinstate provisions concerning indigenous women's rights and traditional knowledge in the draft Indigenous Peoples Law (RUU Masyarakat Adat). On the occasion of the 2026 International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, they advocate for the law to include essential elements for indigenous survival and cultural continuity.
