Cambodian Ambassador Meets with Korean Agricultural Machinery Firm to Explore Cooperation

His Excellency Khuon Ponrothanak, Cambodian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, held a courtesy call and working meeting with Mr. Hwang Kyungjoo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hansung TNI, a leading Korean agricultural machinery manufacturer, on the morning of Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Cambodian Embassy in Seoul. Hansung TNI, established in 1981, is a frontrunner in Korea's agricultural machinery production, supplying equipment from the planting to the harvesting stages. Notably, it was the first Korean company to develop an air-propelled sprayer capable of spraying at high speeds and over distances up to 150 meters. Mr. Hwang informed His Excellency the Ambassador that he is aware of Cambodia's status as an agricultural nation and expressed his desire to contribute to the development of Cambodia's agricultural sector in cooperation with the Cambodian government, starting with areas of high agricultural potential. His Excellency the Ambassador expressed his support for the intention to cooperate and develop a model agricultural zone project in Cambodia. He emphasized that the agricultural sector is a primary sector that contributes to Cambodia's national economic development. The Ambassador also advised the company to consider selecting a commune or district in Battambang province, a region with significant agricultural potential in Cambodia.
