Attapeu Province in Laos and Da Nang City in Vietnam have agreed to expand cooperation in education, human resource development, and media infrastructure. Da Nang City pledged 500 million Vietnamese Dong in aid for residents affected by floods.
Attapeu Province in Laos and Da Nang City in Vietnam have held discussions aimed at strengthening regional cooperation. During the meeting, the expansion of collaboration in education, human resource development, and media infrastructure was particularly emphasized. Discussions also highlighted steady regional economic growth and ongoing investments by Vietnamese enterprises in Attapeu. Furthermore, Da Nang City pledged financial assistance of 500 million Vietnamese Dong (approximately 27 million Lao Kip) to support local residents impacted by seasonal flooding. Mr. Bountheung, Secretary of the Attapeu Provincial Party Committee, detailed the province's socioeconomic progress, the legislative framework of the 5th Legislature of the Provincial People's Council, and local governance activities. He expressed deep appreciation for Vietnam's sustained assistance, noting its vital role in the province's human capital development and modernization efforts. In response, Mr. Nguyen from Da Nang praised Attapeu's recent development milestones and reaffirmed Da Nang's commitment to deepening the special friendship between the two localities. Both sides agreed that sharing administrative and legislative experiences is essential to ensuring stable, long-term collaboration between Laos and Vietnam. Laos, under its one-party system, maintains a socialist economy while recognizing the critical importance of relations with neighboring countries for its economic development. Relations with Vietnam, in particular, are historically and geographically deep, with economic cooperation and human resource exchange playing a central role in Laos's development strategy. This meeting exemplifies the concretization of such sub-national cooperation between the two countries.
