Hue Ancient Capital Bustles with Tourists During National Day Holiday

During the holiday commemorating Vietnam's National Day on September 2nd, the ancient capital of Hue has been bustling with a large number of domestic and international tourists. The Imperial City of Hue, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in particular, was vibrant with visitors despite intermittent rain. On September 1st, amidst light rain in Hue, groups of people, some holding umbrellas and others adorned in colorful traditional costumes, walked along the path leading to the Imperial City, admiring the beauty of the rain-soaked ancient capital. Families were seen queuing to purchase tickets, eagerly anticipating their tour. Mr. Le Minh Tien, visiting Hue with his family of five, shared that they had already visited sites like An Dinh Palace, Thien Mu Pagoda, and imperial tombs, and had also enjoyed local cuisine. "Although it's raining today, we planned this in advance to spend the morning at the Imperial City. We can admire the palace architecture and listen to historical stories. The cool weather and light rain make the architecture here even more beautiful, and my whole family has taken many beautiful photos to remember this trip," Mr. Tien expressed his delight. The scenes were captured on August 31st and September 1st. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the preservation of cultural heritage and the promotion of tourism are crucial pillars supporting economic growth. Historical cities like Hue contribute to regional economic revitalization by leveraging their rich cultural heritage to attract both domestic and international tourists. As relations with China remain complex, Vietnam is pursuing a strategy of economic diversification through attracting tourists, and the increase in visitors during such holidays is seen as a contribution to this effort.
