The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) is sending a 50-member delegation to China for a study tour aimed at deepening bilateral ties and absorbing experiences for Cambodia's development. On the afternoon of Sunday, September 20, 2026, H.E. Suos Yara, First Vice-Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party, chaired a meeting for the 50-member delegation who are set to visit the People's Republic of China. The delegation will visit Beijing, the Guangxi Autonomous Region, and Shandong Province over a period of 10 days, from September 21 to September 30, 2026. During the occasion, the head of the delegation briefly summarized the history of Cambodia-China relations and shared some experiences that are crucial inputs for the delegation members to prepare for a smooth and fruitful visit. Finally, H.E. Suos Yara expressed his firm hope that through this visit, the Excellencies and Ladies who are members of the delegation will strive to absorb important experiences relevant to their respective fields, study, adjust, and expand upon them for practical implementation in accordance with the needs of the current situation of the Cambodian people and nation. This delegation underscores the CPP's commitment to maintaining close ties with the Communist Party of China and learning from China's economic development model and governance experience. The insights gained are expected to inform policy-making and development plans within Cambodia, particularly in areas such as infrastructure development, special economic zone management, and poverty reduction strategies, which are relevant to Cambodia's ongoing challenges.
