Thailand Focuses on Human-Elephant Coexistence in Chanthaburi with AI-Powered Early Warning System

In Chanthaburi Province, eastern Thailand, concrete steps are being taken to resolve the long-standing issue of conflict between humans and wild elephants. Minister Suchart, who visited the area, directed the implementation of innovative technologies to address four key problems facing the region. Particularly noteworthy is the introduction of an AI (Artificial Intelligence)-powered early warning system for wild elephant incursions. This system aims to detect elephants approaching human settlements by analyzing their behavior patterns and traces in their habitat, thereby alerting residents to potential danger. This is expected to prevent accidents and damage caused by unexpected encounters. Minister Suchart emphasized that this initiative will lead to the realization of sustainable coexistence, embodying the principle of "humans living, elephants surviving, and forests thriving."
