Bandung Pickup Driver Recounts Terror and Suspicion After Being Used to Transport a Corpse

A Bandung online pickup driver has recounted his terrifying experience of being unknowingly used to transport a corpse. Tegar, the driver, was hired by a man identified by the initials SDS to transport a package in his black pickup truck. The package was described as containing 'iron and clothes'. Tegar initially had no suspicions about the customer. However, his unease began to grow when the package was already placed by the roadside and SDS asked for his assistance in lifting it into the vehicle. The situation escalated when a foul odor started emanating from the package after it was loaded. When Tegar repeatedly questioned SDS about the contents, the customer insisted it was 'iron and clothes'. Tegar's suspicion intensified when he suggested opening the package, only for SDS to strongly refuse. This refusal solidified Tegar's belief that the package contained a body, leading to fear and panic. Ultimately, Tegar decided to have SDS and the package removed from his vehicle. Regarding the intended destination of the corpse, Tegar stated that SDS had mentioned heading towards Kopo, an area known for its travel agencies. This incident highlights the unexpected risks involved in using online ride-hailing services and the challenging situations drivers can encounter.
