Southern Vietnam Braces for Heavy Rainfall, Military on Standby

Southern Vietnam and Lam Dong province are bracing for heavy rainfall, with localized downpours exceeding 100mm expected in the coming days. The Ministry of Defense has instructed military units to prepare for disaster response and rescue operations. Meteorological authorities have warned of potential rainfall exceeding 100mm per hour in some areas, urging caution against flooding in low-lying regions, as well as gusts, lightning, and strong winds. Recent observations on September 20th recorded significant rainfall, with Rach Gia in An Giang province receiving 123.9mm, Phan Lam in Lam Dong province 119.9mm, and My Xuan in Ho Chi Minh City 117mm. The forecast indicates that the influence of the tropical convergence zone will continue, leading to cloud development and heavier rainfall in the afternoons and evenings. The eastern part of southern Vietnam and coastal areas of the Mekong Delta are expected to see the most significant rainfall. Temperatures are predicted to range from 29-32°C during the day and 23-26°C at night.
