Vietnam Ministry of Public Security Reviews 1 Year of International Integration

On the afternoon of July 29, in Hanoi, General Luong Tam Quang, a member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Public Security Party, and Minister of Public Security, chaired a conference to review the implementation of the action program of the Central Committee of the Public Security Party for the past year, in accordance with Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2025, of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation. The conference highlighted the importance of international cooperation in ensuring national security while promoting economic growth amidst a complex international landscape. The Public Security Party Committee reviewed its efforts over the past year and confirmed the direction of future international integration strategies. Under its one-party system, Vietnam prioritizes economic growth, with integration into the global market being a key driver for attracting foreign investment and technology transfer. However, increasing geopolitical tensions and emerging threats such as cybersecurity and terrorism necessitate strengthening national security. The Ministry of Public Security has been enhancing measures against international criminal organizations and terrorist activities through strengthened cooperation with international law enforcement agencies, information sharing, and joint investigations. It also aims to build trust with the international community by developing legal systems in line with international norms and standards. This meeting signals the Ministry of Public Security's commitment to further deepening international integration as part of its strategy to balance the dual objectives of maintaining national security and promoting economic development.
