Cambodia Promotes Anti-Drug App to Students

The National Authority for Combating Drugs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, organized an educational program on drug abuse prevention, HIV/AIDS countermeasures, and the use of the mobile application 'NoDrug' for approximately 200 students and staff at the Kampong Cham National Institute of Agriculture. The event, held on July 30, 2026, was attended by HE Hu Sophorn, Undersecretary of State, representing the high authority of HE Kong Chanvasna, Secretary of State and Head of the Working Group for Education, Prevention of Drug Use, Trafficking, and Combating AIDS of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, along with leaders and officials from the institute. HE General Thong Sokuntha, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Authority for Combating Drugs, conveyed a message from HE Dr. Net Savoeun, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Authority for Combating Drugs, expressing gratitude to the Ministry of Agriculture for its continuous commitment to implementing Sub-Decree No. 01 and participating in multi-sectoral drug prevention campaigns and strategies. He emphasized that this awareness event and debate competition would provide students with in-depth knowledge of drug-related issues, particularly highlighting the benefits of the 'NoDrug' app, which guarantees 100% safety for reporters by completely concealing their identity and preventing retaliation. During the event, HE Hu Sophorn thanked the National Authority for Combating Drugs and the National Authority for Combating AIDS, stressing that drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, and traffic accidents are common concerns requiring the participation of all sectors to ensure a bright future for individuals, families, and the nation. The Undersecretary of State added that the dissemination work, including the debate competition, is crucial in attracting students' interest and encouraging them to research and enhance their understanding of the impacts of drugs and AIDS, thereby contributing significantly to the well-being of both officials at all levels and students within educational institutions under the ministry's purview.
