Vietnam Communist Party Updates Discipline Regulations for Violators

Vietnam's Politburo has issued new regulations (Quy định 212) concerning discipline for party organizations and members who violate party rules. This new regulation replaces the previous "Quy định 69/2022" and its amendment "Quy định 264/2025". The new disciplinary rules, signed by Standing Secretary Trần Cẩm Tú, aim to clarify and update the standards for penalties against violations within the party. The Communist Party of Vietnam plays a central role in the country's political and social landscape, and maintaining internal discipline is considered crucial for preserving its authority and stability. In recent years, Vietnam has been engaged in a continuous anti-corruption campaign, and strengthening the monitoring and punishment of party members' disciplinary violations is seen as a key measure to maintain public trust and solidify the party's one-party system.
