National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man and Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Cho Jeong-sik held talks in Seoul on September 7, agreeing on measures to deepen the two countries’ Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with a focus on economic ties, science and technology, parliamentary cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. As part of National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man’s official visit to the Republic of Korea, his spouse, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, and Cho Mi-seon, spouse of RoK National Assembly Speaker Cho Jeong Sik, visited the National Assembly Museum in Seoul on September 7. NA President Man urged the RoK legislature to encourage Korean companies to expand investment in Vietnam in priority areas, including infrastructure, semiconductors, large-scale AI data centres, energy and seaports; create favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to engage more deeply in the RoK’s manufacturing supply chains. Both leaders highlighted deepening ties and regular high-level delegation exchanges, affirming that Vietnam and the RoK have become each other's leading partners in economic, trade and investment cooperation. The meeting reaffirmed that Vietnam and South Korea have become each other's leading partners in economic, trade, and investment cooperation. Both nations view economic growth and technological innovation as foundational pillars of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, signaling expectations for future expansion of collaboration. Vietnam, under its one-party system, prioritizes economic development and actively seeks foreign investment, particularly in advanced technology sectors. South Korea is a crucial investor for Vietnam, playing a central role in technology transfer and supply chain development. This agreement is expected to contribute to both the upgrading of Vietnam's economic structure and the expansion of South Korean companies' presence in the Southeast Asian market.
