Cambodia's Tyre Exports Surpass $1 Billion Amid Robust Growth

Vehicle tyre manufacturing has become one of Cambodia’s most promising export industries. In the first half of 2026, the Kingdom generated more than $1 billion in revenue from tyre exports, up more than half again from the same period in 2025. The General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) reported that from January to June, Cambodia earned a total of 4.122 trillion riel (approximately $1.02 billion) from tyre exports, up 55% from the 2.654 trillion riel (about $657.9 million) of the first half of 2025. Ken Oudomony Sinat, chief executive officer of PICG, the exclusive distributor of Sailun tyres in Cambodia, told The Post on July 23 that Cambodia has emerged as one of the world’s major tyre manufacturing and export hubs, with at least eight tyre factories currently in operation. Exports have risen steadily over the past three to four years. He said the industry’s rapid growth has been driven by several factors, including the government’s attractive tax incentive policies, Cambodia’s abundant supply of high-quality natural rubber, a skilled workforce and well-developed transport infrastructure that supports exports. Cambodia’s tyre production capacity has now surpassed that of some neighbouring countries, he added. “Cambodia ranks number one regionally for natural rubber quality. As a result, orders for vehicle tyres produced in Cambodia, including Sailun products, are expected to increase further in the future,” he noted. He highlighted how output at Sailun’s Cambodian factory is at times unable to keep up with demand, particularly from the domestic market. Tyres manufactured there are also exported to key markets, including the EU and US. According to the Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia exported more than 30 million tyres in 2025, generating approximately $1.38 billion in revenue, an increase of 57.86% compared with 2024.
