It has been learned from the Talapaw Township Police Station that a suspect was identified and arrested on September 14 for the murder of an 11-year-old schoolgirl and the theft of her gold earrings in Pantaw Village, Mawbin Township, Ayeyarwady Region. According to reports, on the afternoon of September 13, a fifth-grade schoolgirl left her home to attend tutoring and did not return. Her family searched for her and found her dead under a bamboo grove by the roadside in Pantaw Village, with her neck bound by cloth. Following this discovery, the girl's father filed a complaint with the Talapaw Township Police Station, requesting the identification and prosecution of the perpetrator. Security forces then identified and arrested the suspect. It was revealed that the perpetrator is San Naing, a 55-year-old resident of Pantaw Village. He attempted to snatch the earrings worn by the schoolgirl as she returned from tutoring. When the girl screamed and resisted, he grabbed and twisted both her ears, causing her neck to snap, leading to her death. He then stole one pair of gold earrings.
