Intense fighting in Mooloo, Junta forces suffer losses and drop over 40 bombs, travelers advised to check road conditions on Mandalay-Myitkyina highway

Fighting has been intensifying continuously between the interim government forces and the allied resistance forces in the Mooloo town area of Indaw Township, Sagaing Region, and the junta forces have been dropping a large number of bombs from the air into villages, according to the Indaw Revolution (IR) organization. Fighting has reignited in recent days in the vicinity of Mooloo town in Indaw Township, located on the Mandalay-Myitkyina highway, and it is reported that junta forces suffered losses and had numerous casualties in the battle that took place on the night of July 7. Resistance forces reportedly seized some bodies and weapons and ammunition. Following these losses, junta forces dropped over 40 bombs from aircraft into Seipain village, located south of Mooloo town, causing damage and fires to some of the local residents' homes. "Fighting has been ongoing since the military announced the capture of Indaw, Mooloo, and Naba. The military has also attacked Naba and Kan Ni villages with drone bombs. Two farmers, father and son, were killed," a source told the Irrawaddy Times. Revolutionary fighters stated that the military is currently attempting to regain control of Indaw, Mooloo, and Naba, and that fighting will continue to intensify in the area as long as junta forces are present. It is reported that the Mandalay-Myitkyina highway, the main artery connecting Kachin State and central Myanmar, is not stable and is subject to frequent closures and openings depending on the combat situation due to the ongoing fighting around Indaw and Mooloo. Due to these frequent road blockades, it is reported that a large amount of goods, including agricultural products and foodstuffs, are facing damage and loss during transportation. Revolutionary groups have urged travelers to carry sufficient dry rations and essential medicines, as the ground military situation remains complex, and there is a possibility of prolonged detentions on the road.
