Daw Htwe Htwe, the wife of one of the militia leaders, and U Kyaw Sein Hlaing, 58, who resides in the ward and has been involved in social activities such as ward festivals and funerals, ran for the position. It was learned that the ward residents voted for U Kyaw Sein Hlaing, who has been serving the ward's interests. Dissatisfied with the election results, Tin Moe, the militia leader and husband of Daw Htwe Htwe, led a group of people to U Kyaw Sein Hlaing's house at 1 AM on June 26, broke down the house doors, and beat and abducted U Kyaw Sein Hlaing. As a result, militia leader Tin Moe and his wife were arrested by the district military on June 28, under the order of the Naypyidaw Regional Military Command, which is under the military junta. Daw Htwe Htwe was released on bail today, June 29, but Tin Moe remains under arrest and investigation. "They were both arrested by senior officials from Naypyidaw, who came down and accused them of defaming their organizations. Daw Htwe was released on bail by former administrator Khin Aung. He was previously a member of Tate Thet Khine's party and a village elder and member of the USDP in around 1990. Daw Htwe Htwe was not involved in the incident; it was her husband and his group who acted, which is why she was granted bail. Former administrator Khin Aung also acted as a guarantor because he is like a younger brother to him," the local source told Yangon Khit Thit Media.
