Due to the decrease in crop yields, the supply of green beans to the Pakokku market has been low, and the supply of Mong Oo sesame has not yet begun. "In May, it rained a little, so we planted, but after planting, it didn't rain much. Even when it rained, it didn't last long. There was no water. For Mong Oo sesame, normally we get about five tin per acre, but in this year's situation, it's not easy to get three tin per acre. For green beans, we haven't harvested much yet. If it rains now, we can expect a little from green beans. What we have harvested so far hasn't even covered the costs," said a farmer from Myain Township. In the Pakokku agricultural market, green beans (small) that are newly arriving are priced at 96,000 kyats per tin as of July 28, and green beans (large) that have been arriving since June are priced at 83,000 kyats per tin. "The price of green beans has dropped, making it difficult for farmers on dry land. Previously, island green beans fetched up to about 140,000 kyats per tin," said a farmer from Pakokku Township. It is reported that in some areas within the Pakokku district, due to regional instability, the amount of goods brought by farmers to the Pakokku agricultural market for sale has decreased.
