Thailand Stages Comeback Victory Against Kyrgyzstan 3-2 in Asian Games Football Opener

Thailand's men's national football team secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against Kyrgyzstan in their opening Group A match of the 2026 Asian Games. Following the match, head coach Thawatchai Damrong-ongtrakul commented, "We expected to get three points in the first game, but the opponent was also strong. Despite conceding two goals in the first half, we were able to come back thanks to the players' full commitment." Thailand, trailing 0-2 at halftime, implemented a tactical shift in the second half, introducing more attacking players, which paid off with goals from Jehanifee Mam and substitute Pripun Wongsa to secure the win. Regarding Pripun Wongsa, the coach explained, "He has been with us for several camps, and we have seen his individual ability and good finishing skills.
