BIR Submits VP Sara Duterte's Tax Records to Senate Impeachment Court

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on Thursday formally submitted to the Senate impeachment court the tax records of Vice President Sara Duterte. According to GMA News’ Ian Cruz, some BIR personnel delivered Duterte’s tax documents enclosed in a red box at the Senate building in Pasay City on July 30, well-within the deadline set by the impeachment court. The Senate Clerk of Court is expected to formally receive the documents. Last week, the court started issuing subpoenas for Duterte’s tax and bank records in relation to the impeachment trial. Among those issued with subpoenas were the BIR, the Anti-Money Laundering Council, and several banks. They were given until July 30 to comply. —VAL, GMA News
