In Prey Nob District, Preah Sihanouk Province, 1,203 households received energy-saving stoves on Sunday morning, September 13, 2026. The distribution ceremony was attended by HE Mang Sineath, Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, and HE Kim Sophak, Honorary President of the Women's Association for Peace and Development of Preah Sihanouk Province. HE Men Saman, Chairperson of the 8th Commission of the Senate and Vice President of the Women's Association for Peace and Development, presided over the event. HE Mang Sineath stated that the distribution of energy-saving stoves contributes to improving the well-being, living standards, and environmental protection of the residents in Prey Nob District. He highlighted that this initiative reflects humanitarianism and the implementation of three key principles: 1. Promoting gender equality and women's rights: Reducing women's cooking time allows them more time for family health care, social and economic activities, and self-development. 2. Enhancing household well-being and living standards: Decreasing the consumption and expenditure on firewood and charcoal, and reducing toxic fumes in kitchens that affect the respiratory systems of women and children. 3. Participating in environmental protection and climate change mitigation: The use of energy-saving stoves helps reduce deforestation and greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to a sustainable living environment. HE Mang Sineath also emphasized the government's "Pentagonal Strategy - Phase 1," led by Prime Minister HE Dr. Hun Manet, which aims to build a strong economic foundation, maintain social stability, and reduce poverty. HE Men Saman conveyed greetings and regards from HE Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, who always cares about the well-being of the people and wishes them good health and happiness. Although Samdech Techo Hun Sen wanted to meet them in person, he sent his working group due to numerous commitments. HE Men Saman also acknowledged the contributions of HE the Governor's wife, as Honorary President of the Women's Association for Peace and Development of Preah Sihanouk Province, in assisting refugees, and the support provided by the people of Preah Sihanouk Province to soldiers stationed along the border and to refugees. HE the Governor has been involved in all activities to overcome difficulties in line with the government's policies, particularly in maintaining peace and improving the living standards of the local population. The Women's Association for Peace and Development has distributed energy-saving stoves in 18 provinces. These stoves are provided free of charge and offer benefits such as environmental protection and reduced pollution. The association is concerned about the welfare of the people and has expanded public service networks. The Royal Government has not reduced its commitment to three key sectors in Cambodia: national defense, health, and education, while other sectors may see reductions or remain unchanged. HE Men Saman highly praised the support for the government's leadership, noting that after decades of war, Cambodia has achieved peace, and its citizens live peacefully throughout the country. The Cambodian People's Party stands with the people, and HE Samdech Techo Hun Sen is recognized as the "Father of Peace in Cambodia." She expressed that Cambodian women continue to support HE Samdech Techo Hun Sen 100 percent and highlighted the importance of educating the youth to enhance human resources in Cambodia, especially in Preah Sihanouk Province. She urged the honorary presidents of the branches to further participate in humanitarian activities with students and local communities. By Ngu Somuney © All rights reserved by AKP 2018
