Jakarta Continues Benyamin S Award to Boost Regional Development

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has announced the continuation of the "Benyamin S Award (BSA)" for 2026, an initiative to recognize village heads for their contributions to regional development. First held in 2025, the award aims to encourage and honor the efforts of villages committed to improving the quality of life for their residents. The BSA was established as a form of respect and appreciation for villages dedicated to realizing a "clean, comfortable, beautiful, and prosperous Jakarta." According to the Instagram account of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's Bureau of Regional Cooperation (Biro Kerja Sama Daerah), as of the end of August 2026, 52 villages from across the province have completed their participation applications. This figure comprises 10 villages from each administrative city and two villages representing the regencies within DKI Jakarta. Currently, the first stage of evaluation will be conducted online during the first and second weeks of September 2026. In the third and fourth weeks of September 2026, a selection process will narrow down the 52 villages to 27. In October 2026, field inspections will be carried out for the 27 selected villages, leading to the selection of 10 finalists by the third and fourth weeks of October, followed by the final judging and determination of the overall winner.
