SC Suspends Court Operations in Several Areas on Aug. 10
The Supreme Court of the Philippines announced the suspension of court operations in several areas on August 10 due to scheduled power interruptions and local festivities. Urgent matters like bail applications will be exempted.
The Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday announced the suspension of court operations in several areas across the country on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, due to scheduled power interruptions and local celebrations. The following courts will suspend operations: Judicial Region 2 Judicial Region 3 Judicial Region 4-A Judicial Region 4-B Judicial Region 5 Judicial Region 8 The filing of time-bound pleadings and the issuance of time-bound resolutions and decisions will also be suspended until normal court operations resume. The suspension, however, does not cover matters requiring immediate court action, such as applications for bail, release orders, writs of habeas corpus, and other similar urgent relief. “The courts shall have sufficient staff members to act on urgent requests for bail, orders of release, writs of habeas corpus, and similar urgent reliefs,” the SC said. — MCG, GMA News
