Six Youths Arrested in Phnom Penh for Carjacking and Assault

Six youths have been arrested in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, in connection with an incident of carjacking and assault against a driver. The incident occurred on August 29th, near Hong Sun Market along National Road No. 2 in Chak Angre Krom commune, Meanchey district, Phnom Penh. Following orders from Lieutenant General Chuon Narinth, Deputy Commissioner General and Commissioner of Phnom Penh Municipal Police, the Criminal Police Department of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Headquarters, in cooperation with the Meanchey District Police Inspectorate, conducted an investigation. The operation was led by Brigadier General Bun Satya, Deputy Commissioner in charge of criminal police affairs, and Colonel Mam Savon, Chief of the Minor Criminal Police Office. As a result, on September 3rd, six suspects were arrested at a location on 60-meter Road in Prek Talong 3 village, Chak Angre Krom commune, Meanchey district, Phnom Penh. The offense occurred on the night of August 29th, 2026, at the aforementioned location. The six arrested suspects include: 1. Pring Vichetr (male, 30 years old, Cambodian, residing at Prek Ho construction site, Kandal province). 2. Aun Chivanth (male, 17 years old, Cambodian, residing at Prek Ho construction site, Kandal province). 3. Chin Sophesy (male, 17 years old, Cambodian, residing at Prek Ho construction site, Kandal province). 4. Khaet Khao (male, 25 years old, Cambodian, residing at Prek Ho construction site, Kandal province). 5. Ngim Dara (male, 25 years old, Cambodian, residing at Prek Ho construction site, Kandal province). 6. Mao Chin (male, 24 years old, Cambodian, residing at Prek Ho construction site, Kandal province).
