MANILA, Philippines — Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. on Friday visited the wake of slain motorcycle rider in Caloocan City to convey the condolences of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to the victim’s family. During the visit, the newly appointed official extended financial assistance to the family of Fabio Norberte Jr. Abalos also assured the bereaved families of the government’s support in the wake of Norberte’s death. READ: Motorcycle taxi rider stabbed dead in Caloocan “The Cabinet Secretary likewise committed to personally helping Norberte’s child, who has autism, and said he would coordinate with the family to ensure the child receives continued support,” the Office of the Cabinet Secretary said in a press release. “Abalos also assured the family that the government would coordinate with the appropriate agencies to assist them and pursue justice in the case,” it also read. Police identified the suspect in the fatal stabbing as a 43-year-old Malabon City resident. Authorities recovered the victim’s motorcycle and a 13.54-inch ice pick from the suspect.
