Laos President says Myanmar will continue to be supported on international and ASEAN fronts

Laos will continue to stand by Myanmar on the international and ASEAN fronts, said Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith during a meeting with Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing. This meeting between Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a State Visit to Laos at the invitation of Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith, and Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith took place at the Presidential Palace in Laos this morning (July 3). During the meeting, President Min Aung Hlaing and Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith discussed the existing friendly relations and mutual support between the two countries, which have been a tradition among successive leaders, the establishment of the Myanmar-Laos Friendship Association and the Laos-Myanmar Friendship Association to promote bilateral cooperation, the promotion of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, and the promotion of the mutual trade sector. Furthermore, discussions were held on the potential for increased trade flow between the two countries and people-to-people exchanges through the Myanmar-Laos Friendship Bridge, cooperation for the development of the defense sector, tourism sector, and manufacturing sector, cooperation for the development of the lives of people in border areas and for stability and peace in border areas, Myanmar's ongoing clearance operations to eradicate online gambling, the proper destruction of seized items related to online gambling and the proper demolition of illegal structures, cooperation between the two countries to eradicate online gambling, and the continued promotion of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries. It is reported that during the meeting, Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith added that Laos will continue to stand by Myanmar on the international and ASEAN fronts. Following the meeting, a ceremony for the exchange of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Agreements between Myanmar and Laos was held. An MoU on tourism cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism of Myanmar and the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos. An MoU on establishing sister city relations between Nay Pyi Taw, the capital of Myanmar, and Vientiane, the capital of Laos, was signed and exchanged by the responsible officials from each sector in the presence of President Min Aung Hlaing and Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith. After that, Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi from the President's Office of Myanmar handed over 640 doses of Myanmar-made antidote to Laos, which was received by an official from the Laotian government.
