Vietnamese President and General Secretary To Lam Begins State Visit to Canada

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam has commenced his state visit to Canada. On September 24, local time (evening of the same day, Hanoi time), at the Governor General's residence in the capital, Ottawa, Governor General of Canada Mary Simon officially welcomed President To Lam and the high-level delegation of Vietnam. This visit is positioned to open a new chapter of development in bilateral relations between Vietnam and Canada. During the subsequent talks, both sides expressed their intention to further expand cooperation in the economic, trade, and investment sectors. Vietnam, in particular, is keen to attract investment from Canada, and Canada is also paying attention to Vietnam's growth potential. The relationship between Vietnam and Canada has continued to develop steadily over many years, deepening cooperation in various fields such as politics, economy, and culture. This visit by General Secretary and President To Lam is expected to be an important opportunity to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries and enhance mutual understanding and trust.
