MGY Region CM provided cash for eye patients

With the aim of restoring sight to visually impaired people in Magway Region, a cash donation ceremony was held for patients receiving free eye surgery at the Thitagu Myint Mo San Cakkhu Dana Eye Hospital. The ceremony, organized by the Magway Region Government led by Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko, was held at the Sasana Beikman Hall within Maha Wisutarama Monastery in Magway at 10 a.m. Wednesday. At the ceremony, Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko and officials donated 3 million kyats to patients receiving free eye surgery during the fifth round of treatment at the Thitagu Myint Mo San Cakkhu Dana Eye Hospital. Afterwards, the Chief Minister and officials toured the Thitagu Myint Mo San Cakkhu Dana Eye Hospital. They observed the systematic examination and diagnosis of eye patients by Thitagu specialist doctors, as well as professors and specialist doctors from the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Specialist Hospital. They also inspected the eye surgeries being performed in the operating theatres and the medical treatment and care being provided to patients following surgery. The Chief Minister and officials then presented eyeglasses, eye drops, medicines, financial assistance and nutritional supplements to patients who had undergone free eye surgery. They also personally greeted the patients, offering them words of encouragement and support. During the fifth round of free eye treatment at the Thitagu Myint Mo San Cakkhu Dana Eye Hospital in Magway, more than 1,600 eye patients from various townships across Magway Region have been examined. Thitagu specialist doctors will provide free surgical treatment to patients suffering from cataracts and glaucoma from August 29 to September 5. It is also reported that the Thitagu Dhamma Charity Organization and donors have made arrangements to provide free accommodation and meals for all the patients and their attendants throughout the treatment period.
