Cambodian Red Cross Distributes Aid to Vulnerable Families in Preah Vihear Province
The Cambodian Red Cross, Preah Vihear Provincial Branch, distributed humanitarian aid to 19 vulnerable families and elderly individuals in three districts of the province. Aid packages included rice, canned fish, instant noodles, fish sauce, and cash.
On Thursday, July 16, 2026, the Cambodian Red Cross, Preah Vihear Provincial Branch, led by Deputy Director Cheng Muin, along with branch officials, sub-branch officers, and volunteers, distributed humanitarian aid from the provincial branch to 19 vulnerable families and elderly individuals without relatives in three districts of Preah Vihear Province. These included 8 families in Stung Hav district, 8 families in Prey Nob district, and 3 families in Kampong Som city. During the distribution, Deputy Director Cheng Muin offered words of encouragement to the beneficiaries and conveyed greetings from H.E. Mang Sineath, Chairman of the Cambodian Red Cross, Preah Vihear Provincial Branch. He emphasized the commitment to assisting vulnerable citizens, those facing food insecurity, and displaced persons without discrimination of race or religion. "Where there is hardship, the Red Cross is always with our people. We will not allow any of our citizens to suffer from food shortages," he stated. Furthermore, the Deputy Director instructed the volunteers in the cities and districts to remain attentive to the needs of the residents in their localities to ensure timely aid delivery to those in need. The aid packages distributed to the 19 vulnerable families each consisted of 25 kilograms of rice, one case of canned fish, one box of instant noodles, one bottle of fish sauce, and 100,000 Riel (approximately $25 USD).
