Mytkyina-Mawhkin railway service resumes

A ceremony to mark the resumption of train services on the Mytkyina-Mawhkin railway section within Kachin State was held at Mytkyina Station on the morning of July 21. At the ceremony, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khat Htin Nan delivered an opening speech, and Union Minister for Transport Deputy Minister U Aung Myint explained the current status of plans and arrangements made to extend the operation of trains No. 49 (upcountry) and No. 50 (downcountry) that will run on the Mytkyina-Mawko-Mawhkin railway section. Following this, a local resident expressed words of gratitude regarding the Mytkyina-Mawko-Mawhkin train service, and State Chief Minister U Khat Htin Nan presented a commemorative gift to the Ministry of Transport. After that, the State Chief Minister, Commander of the Northern Military Command, and Deputy Minister for Transport cut the ribbon to inaugurate the train that will run the Mytkyina-Mawhkin route, and train No. 50 (downcountry) departed from Mytkyina Station towards Mawhkin.
