Gov't Services Flood San Juan for Marcos' 69th Birthday

Beneficiaries in Metro Manila also received cash handouts and subsidized rice.
MANILA, Philippines — In celebration of President Ferdinand Marcos' 69th birthday on Sept. 13, extensive government services were made available to residents across several areas in the Philippines. In San Juan City, over 50 national and local government services were offered to residents through the city’s “Handog ng Pangulo” program. The activity was led by Mayor Francis Zamora and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling as part of the nationwide celebration of President Marcos’ 69th birthday. The services provided were diverse, including food assistance, health and dental consultations, vaccinations, PhilHealth registration, job and skills training registration, legal aid, police clearance and civil registry services. Furthermore, the city hall distributed P2,000 in financial aid to 2,000 beneficiaries, social pensions to 3,412 senior citizens, and rice at P20 per kilo to 300 beneficiaries. Services for pet owners, such as free spaying and neutering, anti-rabies vaccination and microchipping, were also available. A similar “Handog ng Pangulo” activity took place in Malabon, where Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and National Bureau of Investigation Director Melvin Matibag led the distribution of assistance to residents. These events are part of a nationwide celebration for the President's birthday, aiming to enhance public access to government services and showcase political leadership.
