Four years into President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s term, with his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) scheduled for July 27, 2026, the progress on his key promises is being meticulously tracked. MovePH, Rappler's civic engagement arm, in collaboration with the #FactsFirstPH network, has updated its "Marcos Year 4" tracker. This initiative aims to evaluate the administration's achievements since taking office, categorizing promises as fully enacted, currently being implemented, stalled, or modified. Building on previous years' efforts, the tracker incorporates inputs from community partners, which are then validated by Rappler's Research and Data team. Promises are classified into four statuses: fully enacted, completed, or officially realized into law or project completion; currently being implemented, constructed, or deliberated in Congress; stalled, delayed, or lacking concrete executive or legislative actions; and modified, with budget diverted or scope merged into a broader initiative. The effort underscores a commitment to public monitoring and accountability, encouraging citizens to contribute updates and evidence. MovePH is actively seeking information on local developments that can help verify the status of these commitments. With the administration past its halfway mark, attention is now focused on tangible progress towards fulfilling its pledges in the remaining term.
