Trat Province in eastern Thailand was hit by torrential rain for five hours on September 24, causing flash floods that submerged agricultural land. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has urged residents, particularly in the Chang Thun and Nong Bon districts, to be vigilant. Such localized downpours are not uncommon in Thailand during the rainy season. Areas in mountainous regions and along river basins are particularly susceptible to rapid water level rises, posing risks of landslides and flood damage.
