Free Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery Offered at Mahosot Hospital in Laos

VIENTIANE, September 22, 2026 (KPL) – Mahosot Hospital, in cooperation with the Lancang-Mekong Development Foundation and China’s “Mother’s Smile” Charity Organisation, will provide free cleft lip and palate surgery at Mahosot Hospital in Vientiane from November 25 to 30, 2026. The charity programme, titled “Mother’s Smile – Love in Lao PDR,” will be carried out by medical specialists from Mahosot Hospital at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The programme aims to provide free reconstructive surgery for disadvantaged people with cleft lip, cleft palate and related facial conditions who require specialised medical treatment.
