AI Summary

Vietnam's education sector is revamping its management system to improve the quality of education and training, aiming to adapt to the AI era. Measures include alleviating teacher shortages through school consolidation, enhancing teacher professionalism, and reducing administrative burdens.

Over time, the quality of education and training nationwide has seen many positive changes and achieved impressive results. Contributing to these successes, the noble role and mission of generations of teachers cannot be overlooked. The requirement for the teaching staff in this school year is not only good competence and phẩm chất, but also the ability to adapt teaching and learning to the era of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and the increasingly strong development of science and technology. Implementing Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025, of the Politburo on breakthrough development of education and training, the entire sector has made great efforts to complete institutions and policies; innovate management, improve the quality of teaching, especially high-quality human resource training; accelerate digital transformation; and prepare the teaching staff, schools, textbooks, and conditions for the new school year. After a period of reorganizing public preschools, general education, and vocational education - continuing education, the country has reduced the number of educational institution units by an average of about 50%. Thousands of redundant school leaders after mergers have continued to be assigned as vice-principals, and the initial problem of teacher shortages has begun to be overcome. The 2026-2027 school year begins with many new tasks. To create clear and substantial changes, the education sector needs to innovate and shift from a management mindset to educational development governance; focus on thoroughly addressing limitations, inadequacies, difficulties, and obstacles; and continue to synchronously, decisively, and effectively implement breakthrough tasks and solutions for education and training development. Based on leveraging the strengths of the teaching staff, localities and the education sector continue to care for and support teachers after mergers to stabilize their psychology, and to motivate and encourage individuals to develop their capabilities and strengths. Along with that, each educational institution must strengthen discipline, enhance responsibility for task execution, build a culture of honesty, integrity, and substance, and have specific solutions to overcome the "record-seeking" malady in teaching, learning, and assessment. The Ministry of Education and Training researches and proposes policies to attract teachers, especially those teaching specialized subjects and working in disadvantaged areas; amends regulations on workload norms and working regimes for teachers suitable for the requirements of digital transformation and artificial intelligence application; and guides the reduction of administrative records and paperwork to reduce administrative pressure so that teachers can focus on professional work... Notably, after merging schools to make the education system leaner and more efficient, the reality demands proactive adaptation, collective solidarity, and close companionship from the teaching staff and school management boards. When schools merge, teachers play a key role in stabilizing the organization and maintaining the quality of teaching. To quickly adapt to the new environment, teachers need to be proactive in change, ready to get acquainted with new colleagues, new students, and new facilities; actively apply technology and share good lesson plans to improve the quality of lectures. It is noteworthy that teachers need to continue learning to improve their professional qualifications, always be a bright example, and prioritize students' interests over initial disruptions. Leaders of educational institutions should assign and schedule teaching and tasks according to competence, avoiding excessive pressure on teachers; regularly dialogue to promptly resolve issues related to policies, regimes, and psychology; and timely reward and honor teachers who are active, creative, and overcome difficulties after mergers...
