DBM Eyes Faster Processing of Salary Deficiencies for Gov't Workers

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is working on a new system to speed up the processing of salary deficiencies for government employees, such as public school teachers, Malacañang said Monday. Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said the reform would eliminate the need for agencies to submit separate funding requests before salary adjustments can be processed. “Sa ilalim ng reforma, hindi na kailangan ang hiwalay na funding request para maproseso ang salary adjustments. Sa oras na ma-update ng isang ahensya, ang kanilang plantilla master list at makitang may salary deficiency, agad na itong matutukoy ng DBM para makapag-release ng kinakailangang pondo,” she said at a Palace briefing. (Under the reform, there is no longer a need for a separate funding request to process salary adjustments.
