The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport is promoting the standardization and fairness of the organization of the 5th National Sports Games and the 3rd National Para-National Games, scheduled to be held from November 5-13, 2026. Mr. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry, stated that based on the directives of H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, the upcoming national and para-national games will be conducted in accordance with sports game rules and technical standards. This was highlighted during a dissemination meeting on general and technical regulations held on July 23, 2026, at the National Sports Training Center in Phnom Penh. Mr. Chamroeun emphasized that the organizational standards for each sport are based on competition and technical regulations. Successful organization implies fair, equitable, and ethical competition, and respect for all results is paramount. He stressed the importance of pledging to organize the games with integrity to gain the trust of athletes, spectators, and leaders, reflecting professional ethics. He further noted that the success of sports is not solely dependent on technical aspects but requires the integration of various other elements. Meanwhile, Mr. Hout Sengtry, Director of the Department of Sports Events and Statistics, reported that the organization of the 5th National Sports Games and the 3rd National Para-National Games in 2026 is crucial for selecting potential athletes to join the Cambodian national teams for various international competitions.
