Vietnam Appoints Nguyen Viet Son as Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade

Vietnam appointed Nguyen Viet Son, 56, as Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade on September 6. Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc handed over the Prime Minister's decision to appoint Mr. Son. New Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Son, 56, is from Ha Tinh province, a petrochemical engineer with a PhD in petroleum refining catalysis. He has over 30 years of experience in the energy and petroleum sector, participating in the development of strategies, planning, institutional improvement, and problem-solving for many key energy projects. Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc commented that in his positions, Mr. Son has always demonstrated exemplary spirit, dedication, and responsibility for his assigned tasks. In early August, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized a conference to introduce Mr. Son for consideration and appointment as Deputy Minister by the competent authorities. The current Minister of Industry and Trade is Mr. Le Manh Hung. The four Deputy Ministers include Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai, Mr. Nguyen Viet Son, and Ms. Phan Thi Thang.
