Cambodia's Information Ministry Praises International Cooperation and Diplomacy Training

The Ministry of Information of Cambodia has highly praised the training course on 'International Cooperation and Diplomacy,' stating that it has fostered close working relationships among specialized officials from various units and strengthened the capabilities of officials to become professional and proactive front-line staff in international relations. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training course on 'International Cooperation and Diplomacy' on the afternoon of September 16, H.E. Net Pheaktra, Minister of Information, emphasized that information diplomacy plays a crucial role in media organizations, acting as disseminators. He highlighted that it has established close working relationships among specialized officials from various units and enhanced their capabilities to become professional and proactive front-line staff in international relations. H.E. the Minister stated that in the context of increasingly complex international relations and the rapid advancement of digital technology, information work cannot be limited to just producing and disseminating information. Officials must possess the ability to use information as a tool for communication, building understanding, and strengthening relations with the international public. In this regard, 'information diplomacy' is becoming increasingly important, as it can help disseminate accurate information about Cambodia's situation, potential, achievements, and priorities to the international community, thereby enhancing understanding and fostering exchanges of views between Cambodia and its partner countries. H.E. Tes Phallyn, Secretary General of the Ministry of Information's General Secretariat, stated that the two-day training course on 'International Cooperation and Diplomacy' concluded with brilliant success, in line with the objectives and expected outcomes set in the concept document. The course has established close working relationships among specialized officials from various units and strengthened their capabilities to become professional and proactive front-line staff in international relations. H.E. Phallyn further announced that based on this success, the General Secretariat will continue to organize subsequent training courses, such as 'Protocol, Hospitality, and Liaison Officer,' in the next quarter according to the established plan. The training course took place for two days, from September 15 to 16, 2026, at the Ministry of Information headquarters. A total of 82 civil servants participated in the study, holding positions ranging from officials to Deputy Directors-General and Deputy Secretaries-General, from the office of the General Secretariat, various Directorates-General, and three subordinate units of the Ministry of Information.
